Rotini and Lentil Bolognese Instructions

If your Presto Eats meal kit is frozen, we recommend thawing your meal the night before cooking for fastest cooking times.

Contents

Package #1:   Crimini Mushrooms, French Lentils, Carrot, Celery, Onion, Garlic, Basil, Oregano

Package #2:   Rotini Pasta (Durum Wheat Semolina)

Package #3:   Diced Tomatoes, Tomato Paste

Package #4:   Broccoli Florets

Package #5:   Vegan Parmesan (Cashews, Nutritional Yeast, Kosher Salt, Garlic Powder)

Recommended Instant Pot Instructions

What You Will Need:

  • Instant Pot
  • Plastic Instant Pot Spoon (or normal Wooden Spoon)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 3 Tbsp Olive Oil, or Vegetable Oil, or Butter
  • 1.5 Cups of Water

Total Preparation Time:

25 Minutes

PART 1

1)  With the inner pot inserted in the Instant Pot, turn the unit on to Saute.

2)  Once the display says “HOT”, add the Olive Oil to the pot.  Open Package #1 and dump the contents into the pot, season with Salt & Pepper, and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

3)  Add the contents of Package #2 & #3 and the Water to the pot, and gently stir to combine the ingredients and scrape any bits stuck to the bottom of the pot.  Do this for about 1 minute.  When you finish this, make sure that the noodles are mostly submerged in the liquid, pushing them down with the spoon.

4)  Place the lid onto the Instant Pot, and set the Valve to Sealing.  Set the Instant pot to Pressure Cook, and adjust the pressure level to High Pressure.  Set the timer to 5 minutes.  Remember, the Instant Pot will need several minutes to come up to temperature before the timer begins.

PART 2

5)  Once the program ends cancel the program, Quick Pressure Release and remove the lid.  Turn the unit back on to Saute.  Open Package #4 and add the Broccoli to the pot.

7)  Stir the pasta for 2 minutes while it cooks, this should thicken the sauce a little and coat all of the noodles.  Taste the sauce and season with some Salt & Pepper to taste. Cancel the program.

8)  Divide the Pasta up between your bowls, spooning any sauce in the pot evenly over the portions.  Garnish with the “Parmesan” and Enjoy!

Express Instant Pot Instructions

What you will need:

  • Instant Pot
  • Plastic Instant Pot Spoon (or normal Wooden Spoon)

  • 1.5 Cups of Water

Total Preparation Time:

20 minutes from thawed, 25 minutes from Frozen

PART 1

1)  Add the water to the bottom of the Pot.  Add the Rotini from Package #2.  Add the contents of Package #3 & then  Package #1 on top of the noodles and water.

2)  Place the lid onto the Instant Pot, and set the Valve to Sealing.  Set the Instant pot to Pressure Cook, and adjust the pressure level to High Pressure.  Set the timer to 5 minutes / 8 minutes.  Remember, the Instant Pot will need several minutes to come up to temperature before the timer begins.

PART 2

3)  Once the program ends cancel the program, Quick Pressure Release and remove the lid.  Turn the unit back on to Saute.  Open Package #4 and add the Broccoli to the pot.

4)  Stir the pasta for 2 minutes / 4 minutes while it cooks, this should thicken the sauce a little and coat all of the noodles and heat the broccoli.  Taste the sauce and season with some Salt & Pepper to taste. Cancel the program.

5)  Divide the Pasta up between your bowls, spooning any sauce in the pot evenly over the portions.  Garnish with the “Parmesan” and Enjoy!

Conventional Cooking Instructions

What You Will Need:

  • Medium Pot & Medium Frying Pan
  • Wooden Spoon & Colander
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 3 Tbsp Olive Oil, or Vegetable Oil, or Butter
  • Water for Boiling Pasta (at least 1.5L)

Total Preparation Time:

25 minutes

1)  Put enough water to boil your pasta into your pot (at least 1.5L), and add about a tablespoon of salt.  Place the pot on the stove and bring to a boil over high heat.

2)  Once the water comes to a boil, add the Rotini from Package #2 to the water and stir. Set a timer for 10 minutes and stir frequently, uncovered, while you cook the sauce.

3)  Place your frying pan on your stove and set to medium – high heat, add the oil to your pan.  Once the oil is hot, add the vegetables from Package #1.  Continue to saute and stir for 5 minutes, then add the sauce from Package #3.  Reduce the heat to Medium – Low.  

4)  Once your timer ends, add the Broccoli from Package #4 to the boiling water.  Stir for 30 seconds, then turn off the heat and drain the Pasta and Broccoli in the colander.

5)  Turn off the heat on the sauce, and combine the Broccoli, Pasta and the Sauce and then stir well to coat the noodles.  

6)  Divide the Pasta up between your bowls, spooning any sauce in the pot evenly over the portions.  Garnish with the “Parmesan” and Enjoy!
