  • Salt & Pepper
  • ¾ Cup of Water
  • 4 Tbsp Ghee, Butter, or Vegetable Oil

Total Preparation Time:

30 Minutes

PART 1

1)  With the inner pot inserted in the Instant Pot, turn the unit on to Sauté.

2)  Once the unit has reached the correct temperature and the display says “HOT”, add your Ghee (or Butter or Vegetable Oil). Then open Package #1 and dump the contents in the instant pot.  Stir frequently, every 30 Seconds or so, and season with Salt & Pepper.

3)  Continue to Stir and Cook until the onions are soft and translucent, about 5 Minutes. Once this is done, Cancel the program.

4)  Open Package #2 and put the contents into the Instant Pot, on top of the onions, and stir to combine.  Set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook, adjust to High Pressure, and set the timer for 5 Minutes.  Remember, the Instant Pot will take several minutes to come up to pressure before the timer starts.

PART 2

5) Once the program ends, Quick Pressure Release using the valve (keep fingers away from the steam vent!), and remove the lid once the safety valve has dropped.  Pour in the Tap Water and stir well.

6)  Open Package #3 & #4 and sprinkle the Rice & Raisins evenly over the top of the ingredients in the Instant Pot.  Using your wooden spoon, gently push all of the rice down lightly just to make sure that each grain is submerged, but don’t push the rice down to the bottom of the pot.

7)  Put the Lid back on, and set to Pressure Cook, adjust to High Pressure, and set the timer for 5 Minutes.  Remember, the Instant Pot will take several minutes to come up to pressure before the timer starts.

8) Once the program ends, let the Instant Pot Naturally Pressure Release for 5 Minutes, then Quick Pressure Release and remove the lid.

9) Taste the biryani, then season with Salt & Pepper to taste.

10) Place the Biryani into your serving bowls, garnish with the cashews from Package #5. Enjoy!
